NO TRENDS. NO TEMPLATES. JUST MOUNTAINS.
Switzerland Elopement Photographer
FROM Appenzell TO THE MATTERHORN.
WHY WE’RE THE RIGHT fit FOR YOU?
Nature is our home — especially the Alpstein in Appenzell. We love being with people who feel that same connection to the mountains.
A good cup of coffee, a board game, or a travel guide in hand, that’s what our rainy Sundays on the couch look like. Yours too?
What we love about photography is meeting new people and telling their stories. Capturing a feeling in an image — or creating a small piece of art.
Whether it’s your wedding in St. Gallen, a personal portrait session in our photo studio, or somewhere outdoors where it’s simply beautiful — these are the moments we live for.
Where does our name come from?
ALPSTEIN IS THE MOUNTAIN RANGE IN APPENZELL.
As photographers from Eastern Switzerland, we want our name to reflect our connection to our home.
Our name — and our work — stand for what matters to us: mountains, nature, and a down-to-earth approach.
OUR FIRST PHOTO OF THE MATTERHORN.
SUNRISE AT RIFFEL Lake.
We had just bought our first camera — and a tiny tripod. Luckily, there was no wind that morning. There was already a dusting of snow on the rocks.
Out of breath, we ran off the train. In the last week before the time change, the ,Gornergratbahn ‘ in Zermatt gets you to Lake Riffel – just in time to experience the amazing sunrise.
NO MOMENT CAN BE COPIED.
We made it. Lake Riffel below us, perfectly still like a mirror — and in the background , the Matterhorn. The sky was pink. Alina was standing next to me. We were both in awe. Click. One photo.
That image is many years old now, and we’ve been back to the same spot again and again — but no photo ever felt like the first one.
A perfect moment can’t be repeated. There’s only one first time. Our perfect photo of the Matterhorn.

Chris & Alina
TWO PERSPECTIVES. ONE PASSION.
ALPSTEIN FOTOGRAF — that’s us: Chris & Alina. We’ve been a couple for over ten years. We laugh, we love, and we capture what moves us.
Alina is calm and notices the small, quiet moments. Chris is organized and drawn to the big, emotional scenes.
That’s the beauty of doing this together:
we help each other see the world from a different perspective.

Before we capture your story, we want to share ours.
How we met.
Anyone who has ever tried to write their love story down — or got stuck while writing their vows — knows how hard it is to find the right words.
I (Chris) met Alina at the “Fürstenfest” in Vaduz, the National Day celebration of the Principality of Liechtenstein.
The fireworks were cancelled because of the rain. My best friend and I were about to leave when I heard Alina’s laugh for the first time.
That was the beginning of everything — and the start of our path together: Alpstein Fotograf.
SMALL THINGS CHANGE EVERYTHING.
HOW DID YOU MEET?
Maybe it was a joke one of her friends made — I don’t even remember. But her laugh stayed with me. Fortunately, I had the courage to start a conversation with the girl whose laugh had caught my attention – and a week later we met again at her place for a homemade cake. Believe me, it was not only the delicious cake that continued our story.
It’s the small, quiet moments — the random encounters — that can change a life. That’s what I’ve learned. And now it’s your turn:

PHOTOGRAPHY IS OUR CRAFT.
A beautiful image is like a good cup of coffee.
Coffee and photography connect us. They’re both a passion. From the bean to the cup, it takes many small steps, craftsmanship, and care.
Photography works the same way. It’s not just pressing the shutter. It’s preparation, planning, and a feel for the right moment. A photo needs work after it’s taken — editing, and sometimes printing, on paper or canvas.
We want to create images you can look at and feel. Their value grows, not because they change — but because time doesn’t stand still.
