Veronique & Pascal – Couple photo Shoot at the Lake Constance

I met them through Instagram – though “them” isn’t quite right. I’ve known Veronique for a while now; we’ve done a few shoots together, and once even traveled to Frankfurt for some really beautiful portraits. Pascal, on the other hand, I’d never met before that day.

Within the first few minutes in the studio, it was clear this wasn’t going to be a normal couple photo shoot. These two are that rare kind of couple who bring an instant energy into the room – funny, a little wild, and so obviously in tune with each other that you can’t help but grin. The jokes were flying, the laughter never stopped, and I spent most of the time just smiling behind the camera.

Small side note: the planned outfit wasn’t quite what we’d had in mind. Classic outfit emergency. Luckily, I still had an old suit hanging in the studio – Pascal put it on, and honestly? In the photos, it works better than anything we’d planned. Sometimes the unplanned stuff turns out to be the best.

In the afternoon, we headed out to Lake Constance. We’d brought our oil lanterns along, and they worked so beautifully against the autumn mood at the lake that I fell a little in love with almost every single frame. We wandered along the shore, stopped here and there, laughed, talked – and at some point, since everything was already perfect anyway, we built a small fire on a whim. Honestly, this was one of the most beautiful couple photo shoots I got to do this year. Maybe my favorite by the lake.
